Leapmotor's 10th Anniversary 'Coming-of-Age' Milestone

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Leapmotor's founding and a strategic turning point for the brand. Over the past decade, Leapmotor has primarily competed in the market with its A, B, and C series, with main models concentrated in the $14,706-$29,412 price range, often labeled by the market as 'half-price alternatives' or 'buddy substitutes.' In the next decade, Leapmotor aims to transition from a 'new energy vehicle startup' to a 'world-class automaker' with annual sales of 4 million units, making the arrival of the D19 particularly significant at this milestone moment.

As the first model based on the LEAP 4.0 technology architecture, the Leapmotor D19 represents the culmination of a decade of in-house R&D across all domains. It will help the brand establish a presence in the $36,765-level market, achieving a crucial step upward in brand positioning. Notably, in 2025, Leapmotor delivered nearly 600,000 new vehicles, setting a new record and achieving its first full-year profit. After successfully navigating the 'survival' phase, can Leapmotor quickly shift to a 'running' or 'standing tall' state and meet its 2026 target of 1 million annual sales? Let's explore what capabilities the Leapmotor D19 brings to the table.
Product Introduction:

Competitors:

As a new contender in the flagship large three-row SUV segment, the Leapmotor D19 faces competitors including the Nio Onvo L90 and the Geely Galaxy M9, among others. Although the Leapmotor D9 arrives nearly a year later than these rivals, it demonstrates benchmark-level product strength in its price range across intelligent features, comfort amenities, powertrain options, and chassis configuration. These advantages may well enable it to achieve a latecomer's success and overtake the competition.
Editor's Review:
Leapmotor has long established a product lineup with four main series: A, B, C, and D. After the C series successfully gained a foothold in the market in recent years, the B and A series have gradually democratized technology, allowing products in the $14,706 price range to feature advanced configurations like lidar. However, compared to downward compatibility, upward breakthrough has always been a challenge for Chinese brands, which is why the Leapmotor D19 has garnered significant attention. With the price now announced, we look forward to its future market performance. We also hope the D99 will arrive soon, offering consumers more choices and achieving flagship democratization.
