The facelifted Leapmotor C16 has been spotted in filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Like the recently updated C10, the new C16 receives upgrades to its exterior design, powertrain, and driving range, and will be offered in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) configurations.

In terms of exterior design, the facelifted EREV and BEV versions of the C16 share the same new look. The front end has been comprehensively redesigned, adopting a split-headlight style unified with the new C10. The upper section features a full-width daytime running light strip, with vertical main headlight units on the sides. The front bumper retains an air intake grille, and a lidar sensor is still mounted on the roof.

Regarding dimensions, the new model measures 4925mm in length, 1905mm in width, and 1770mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2825mm. Compared to the current model, the length has increased by 10mm, while other dimensions remain unchanged. The vehicle will continue to be offered in 5-seat and 6-seat configurations. The rear end remains consistent with the current model, retaining the full-width taillight design.

For the powertrain, the facelifted C16 EREV continues to use a 1.5-liter range-extender system. The engine's maximum power remains at 70 kW, while the electric motor's output has been increased from 170 kW to 200 kW. The top speed is 180 km/h. According to the filing information, its WLTC pure-electric range is 185 km. The current model offers WLTC ranges of 134 km and 182 km, indicating a slight improvement. The pure-electric variant also sees a modest power increase. It continues to use a single motor, with maximum power rising from the previous 215 kW and 220 kW to 230 kW. It is still equipped with an LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery.
