An entry-level variant of the Xiaomi YU7 has been spotted in filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The new model shows a lighter curb weight and is expected to be equipped with a smaller battery pack, which could lower the vehicle's starting price.

Visually, the entry-level model does not appear to be low-spec. It includes features like a LiDAR sensor, and its exterior styling remains consistent with the current model. The vehicle will still offer a choice of various wheel designs. The new model's dimensions are 4999/1996/1608mm (L/W/H) with a 3000mm wheelbase, identical to the current long-range rear-wheel-drive version, positioning it as a mid-to-large-size SUV.

For powertrain, the vehicle uses a motor produced by Suzhou Inovance Automotive. The single motor has a maximum power output of 235 kW, matching the current long-range RWD version. It is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery from CATL. The curb weight is 2200kg, which is lighter than the current long-range RWD version's 2315kg. For reference, the current long-range RWD version uses a 96.3 kWh battery pack, offers a CLTC-rated range of 835 km, and is single-motor driven. The range for this new entry-level version has not been officially announced. It is speculated that it may use a 75-80 kWh battery pack, resulting in a lower range than the long-range RWD version and a correspondingly lower starting price.

Currently, the entry-level Xiaomi YU7 variant is expected to retain a relatively high equipment level. Features like LiDAR, the Xiaomi HAD advanced driver-assistance system, and the HyperOS infotainment system are all expected to be present, suggesting this new base model will follow a similar approach.
