At the 2026 Huawei Spring All-Scenario New Product Launch, Harmony Intelligent Driving announced that multiple new models will be equipped with 896-line dual-light-path image-grade LiDAR, with the AITO M8 EV being one of the first to feature it. The vehicle is built on Huawei's Whale 800V high-voltage platform, offering six configuration variants with options for five-seat and six-seat layouts, as well as rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive powertrains. The five-seat version has a guide price of $54,382-$64,676, while the six-seat version is priced at $57,324-$67,618.

The AITO M8 EV is positioned as a large SUV, with dimensions of 5190x1999x1795 mm and a wheelbase of 3105 mm. The front fascia features a closed design with a full-width light strip and mesh-pattern decorative grille. The sides are equipped with semi-hidden door handles and optional 20-inch or 21-inch wheels. The vehicle offers eight exterior colors: Flowing Gold Black, Stellar Blue, Pastoral Green, Warm Cloud White, Night Purple, Galaxy, Auspicious Red, and Deep Blue, along with five interior themes: White Sand Apricot, Red Tea Orange, Truffle Brown, Nebula Red, and Amber Brown.

The interior provides five-seat and six-seat layouts, with Nappa leather seats standard in the first and second rows. The six-seat version includes a zero-gravity seat on the right side of the second row. Features include a front-mounted air-cooled compressor refrigerator, dual 50W wireless charging pads, HUAWEI SOUND audio system, and more. The Ultra version adds electric doors, million-pixel projection headlights, an intelligent projection system, and an in-car floating window. The infotainment system runs Harmony Cockpit 5.0, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.6-inch central touchscreen, 16-inch co-pilot screen, and AR-HUD, enabling multi-screen content flow. The voice assistant integrates PanGu and DeepSeek large language models, supporting multi-command continuous recognition for voice control of air conditioning temperature and seat adjustments.

The vehicle is equipped with Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Driving ADS 4, featuring one 896-line dual-light-path image-grade LiDAR, three high-precision solid-state LiDARs, five 4D millimeter-wave radars, twelve ultrasonic sensors, eleven high-definition cameras, and six external microphones, totaling 38 perception hardware units. Based on the WEWA technology architecture, the system supports advanced assistance functions such as highway navigation, urban navigation, and complex scenario parking.

For powertrain, the vehicle uses the Huawei DriveONE electric drive system, offering single rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions. The rear-wheel drive version has a single motor with a maximum power of 227 kW, while the all-wheel drive version has a combined peak power of 387 kW, both with a top speed of 200 km/h. It comes standard with a 100 kWh CATL ternary lithium battery pack. The rear-wheel drive version has a CLTC range of 705 km, and the all-wheel drive version offers CLTC ranges of 655 km and 625 km. In fast-charging mode, it can charge from 30% to 80% in 15 minutes. Additionally, the vehicle supports up to 6 kW of external discharge.

The chassis uses a front double-wishbone and rear five-link independent suspension, with standard closed dual-chamber air suspension and continuous variable damping shock absorbers. The ground clearance adjustment range is 140 mm to 220 mm, with an emergency wading depth of 700 mm and a minimum turning radius of 5.9 m. Leveraging the Tulin platform, the vehicle can recognize complex environments like rain, fog, and dust, automatically adjusting suspension height and torque distribution for slippery, bumpy, or sharp-turn road conditions.

For safety, the body employs an eight-horizontal, five-vertical structure with nine standard airbags. The passenger compartment's core frame uses submarine-grade hot-formed steel, and the rear floor is made with a 9800-ton integrated die-casting process. It features the all-dimensional anti-collision system CAS 4.0, with forward, lateral, and rear perception capabilities, supporting AEB automatic emergency braking and eAES anti-sandwich function.

Since its launch, the AITO M8 has accumulated over 160,000 deliveries, ranking among the top in the $58,824 premium new energy SUV market. With the upgrade to 896-line dual-light-path image-grade LiDAR, the vehicle's perception accuracy, long-range recognition, and complex scenario handling capabilities have significantly improved, further enhancing its market competitiveness. Key competitors include the NIO ES8 (guide price $59,824-$65,706), Li Auto i8 (guide price $49,971), and Model Y L (guide price $49,853).
