Recently, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd., in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automotive Products" and the "Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automotive Products," has filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation.
Recall number S2026M0026I: Starting from June 25, 2026, recalling certain domestic EQA and EQB vehicles produced between April 1, 2021, and March 12, 2024, totaling 19,481 units.
In some vehicles within the scope of this recall, fluctuations in the high-voltage battery production process have led to reduced battery reliability. Additionally, the control strategy of the existing battery management system software may cause these battery cells to bear excessive loads, increasing the risk of internal short circuits, which could potentially lead to vehicle fire incidents, posing a safety hazard.
This recall activity was initiated under the defect investigation launched by the State Administration for Market Regulation. Affected by the investigation, Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will replace the high-voltage batteries for the affected vehicles through authorized dealers to eliminate the safety hazard.
To ensure driving safety, it is recommended that users set the vehicle's charging limit to no more than 80% and park the vehicle outdoors before the high-voltage battery is replaced.
This recall is a re-announcement of the "Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. Recalls Certain Domestic EQA and EQB Vehicles" released on March 28, 2025, and expands the recall scope.
