Larger Dimensions, Five-Seat Layout, Optional Four LiDARs: All-New Li Auto L8 Livis to Deliver in Q3

On April 9, the latest batch of application images from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology was released, revealing the all-new Li Auto L8. Similar to the previous Li Auto L9, it is the top-tier Livis version. According to the application information, the new model's positioning has changed from a family six-seat SUV to a family large five-seat SUV, with overall body dimensions increased and optional four LiDARs available. It is reported that the new vehicle will begin deliveries in the third quarter of this year.

In terms of exterior design, the overall style of the all-new Li Auto L8 remains unchanged, but there are several adjustments in details. Starting with the front, the vehicle retains the family-style full-width light bar, but with the horizontal crease on the hood lowered, the visual center of gravity is further reduced. Additionally, the front air intake design differs from the current model.

Moving to the side, we can see new semi-hidden door handles, new-style wheels, and new exterior mirror designs. Similar to the Li Auto L9, the sensor module on the front fender is more comprehensive, with optional side/rear LiDARs available across the range, meaning it can be equipped with up to four LiDARs. Furthermore, it offers optional electric retractable running boards, an electric retractable trailer hitch (capable of towing 1500kg), and a two-tone body.

The rear retains the full-width taillight design, but the tailgate and rear bumper are new styles. The license plate frame has been moved from the rear bumper to the tailgate, and in the center of the rear bumper, we can see the optional rear LiDAR component.

Returning to the specifications. The new vehicle measures 5135×2000×1800mm with a wheelbase of 3045mm. Compared to the current Li Auto L8, the new model has increased in length, width, and wheelbase. Additionally, the front/rear overhangs are 945/1145mm, with the front overhang reduced from the current 965mm, further improving space utilization. Combined with the five-seat layout, the interior space performance is highly anticipated. Tire specifications have also been upgraded, offering 285/45 R21 and 285/40 R22 sizes, compared to the current 20-inch and 21-inch options.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new Li Auto L8 will feature Li Auto's new-generation range extender, codenamed L3E15CA, with a maximum power of 115kW. It is equipped with a 72.7kWh 5C ternary lithium battery, and it is noted that the battery assembly is produced by Li Auto's own battery company, Li Auto Battery Co., Ltd. For range, the vehicle has a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 6.2L/100km and a WLTC pure electric range of up to 343km.
