Don't buy China EVs

If you are not in China, absolutely do not buy parallel-imported China EVs that lack a manufacturer's warranty.

Reasons:

The temperament of an EV battery is as unstable as your wife's! Electrochemistry is extremely difficult to control. Furthermore, the consequences of spontaneous combustion are catastrophic!

Car companies frequently recall defective EVs, but if you have a parallel-imported EV without an official warranty, you won't be eligible for the recall.

The EV battery is located at the bottom and is very prone to bumps and scrapes. For a Tesla, a dent of about 5mm on the battery surface requires replacement or repair. Usually, batteries can only be replaced, and it's incredibly expensive! After 3 years of owning an EV, replacing the battery will cost more than the car itself. Plus, if there is no official after-sales service in your local area, you couldn't replace it even if you had the money!

EV insurance is expensive. If you don't drive much, the money you save on gas won't even cover the difference in insurance premiums.

There are few charging stations, making long-distance road trips inconvenient!

Conclusion: If you just want a high-performance toy, or if you are a taxi driver, or if you drive a high number of miles, then you can buy an EV. Otherwise, I highly recommend you buy a gasoline car!
