China Car Export Quotes: Compare EXW Price, Shipping and Total Cost

November 4, 2026

Two China car export quotations can show different totals because they cover different cars or different parts of the journey. Before choosing an exporter or platform, make the vehicle identity, delivery point and included services comparable.

For example, SellGoodCar advertised a 2025 Changan CS75 Plus 1.5T at US$13,300 with 0 km shown on 4 November 2026. That is a vehicle-price example under the platform's EXW terms, not an offer to deliver a registered car to your country for US$13,300.

Start with one car and one destination

Send the same listing reference, VIN when available, exact variant, destination port or city and delivery requirement to the businesses you are comparing. Ask each to state the quote's currency, validity and availability basis.

A quotation for a different model year, powertrain or trim is a different proposition, even when the model name is the same. Likewise, a port-arrival amount and a local-delivery amount should not be ranked as if they cover identical services.

Separate the cost lines

Use a comparison worksheet with these headings. Mark each item as included, separately quoted, buyer-arranged or not yet confirmed.

Cost lineWhat the written quote should clarify
VehicleExact stock reference, price, equipment, recorded mileage and availability
China-side transportPickup point, named handover point and included transport legs
Export-related servicesDocuments and services included, provider and any separate charges
International freightRoute, transport mode, ports, validity and known surcharges
InsuranceInsured amount, coverage, deductible and claims procedure
Destination handlingCharges included or payable locally, and responsibility for collection
Customs and registrationDestination broker's vehicle-specific estimate and required documents
Payment and currencyCurrency, bank charges, exchange-rate basis and payment milestones

The useful total is the sum of the costs you will actually bear. Do not add freight or insurance twice when a quoted subtotal already includes it. Where a cost is unknown, leave it visible as unconfirmed rather than filling the gap with a generic percentage.

EXW, FOB and CIF describe different scopes

In simplified terms, EXW starts at the seller's named location, FOB at loading aboard the vessel at the named departure port, and CIF adds seller-arranged freight and insurance to a named destination port. FOB and CIF are maritime terms. See the ICC's explanation of Incoterms rules when checking a quotation.

SellGoodCar's own Trading Terms specify EXW, with additional agreed provisions on transport risk and insurance. The FOB and CIF comparison here explains quotes buyers may encounter; it does not change the platform's contract or promise that it offers every delivery term. Confirm the named place and the written order rather than relying on a three-letter label alone.

Dealers: compare a batch car by car

For a multi-vehicle purchase, request a line for every stock reference. Separate each vehicle's cost from costs shared across the shipment. Ask how a shared cost will be allocated and what happens if one selected vehicle becomes unavailable before the shipment is finalized.

Calculate expected preparation costs and cash tied up until collection and resale. A single cheap example does not establish a repeatable supply price. Confirm the destination requirements for every variant and document set rather than assuming one approval covers the whole batch.

SellGoodCar describes fixed pricing in its public FAQ. A dealer's planning should therefore use confirmed quoted prices, not an assumed wholesale discount. Ask about supply and logistics arrangements for the actual batch.

Personal buyers: compare the amount needed to collect and use the car

Keep the same worksheet, but focus on a car that fits your intended use and total budget. Ask who will handle destination clearance and which charges become payable on arrival. Check registration eligibility and ongoing servicing for the exact variant with appropriate local providers before committing.

Request transport and insurance details separately from vehicle condition. The platform's visual inspection has a defined, limited scope. Its transport-insurance arrangements do not turn that inspection into a mechanical warranty or guarantee that every claim will be paid.

Frequently asked questions

Is a CIF quotation a complete registered-car price?

Do not assume that it includes destination customs charges, local handling or registration. Check the written scope and obtain the local costs separately where required.

How do I request a useful China car export quote?

Send the listing link, quantity, destination and your required handover point through the contact page. Ask for an itemized quotation with a validity date. Start with current stock, so the request refers to identifiable vehicles.

What happens before paying the vehicle balance on SellGoodCar?

The published order process starts with a non-refundable US$500 deposit and reinspection. You review the result and decide whether to proceed with the balance. Read the order and Trading Terms for the conditions that apply to your purchase.
